OUR PURPOSE
Edelgrund invites you on a journey to unearth the soul of Persia – a captivating blend of tradition, art, and resilient people. Our mission goes beyond rugs; it’s about sharing the vibrant tapestry of Persia’s culture, the echos of centuries old traditions, and breathtaking landscapes.
With each design, we invite the world to explore these treasures. Seamlessly infusing modernity, we bridge Persia’s rich history with contemporary modern arts, creating products that cannot be bound to one time or aesthetic.

OUR COLLECTIONS
Signature
Handwoven flatweaves rooted in the original design “alphabet” crafted by the women of Mazandaran, dating back to the late 19th to early 20th century. These minimalist patterns and stripes, resembling a dynamic design alphabet, offer endless possibilities for rearrangement, sparking the creation of new and innovative designs while honouring a timeless heritage.
Essentials
The Essentials collection draws inspiration from nature’s unadulterated elements, reflected in their Persian-inspired design names. Immerse yourself in a world where nature’s untouched beauty meets exquisite craftsmanship.
EDELGRUND’s Essentials collection is inspired by the traditional designs and weaving techniques of Gilan province in northern Iran. The collection offers a versatile range of designs and colors, allowing architects and interior designers the freedom to create custom pieces tailored to their vision. Each design is named after a Persian word, reflecting its cultural roots. Whether subtle or bold, the Essentials collection offers versatility, allowing it to be as understated or vibrant as desired—making it an ideal choice for any space.
Saddle
The Saddle collection pays homage to the nomadic tribes of southern Iran, where the weaving techniques were originally developed to create durable, hard-wearing saddle bags. This collection preserves the essence of traditional craftsmanship while reimagining it for contemporary living spaces.
Heritage
EDELGRUND’s Heritage collection is inspired by the traditional Zilu carpets of Yazd, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Renowned for their thickness and double-sided construction, these carpets have long been used as durable floor coverings in mosques, a tradition that continues to this day. The collection reflects Yazd’s rich history and cultural heritage, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern sensibilities to create timeless pieces that honor the past while enhancing contemporary spaces.
Victoria Maria’s Cities
This vibrant collection celebrates a rich palette through five distinct color combinations, each named after iconic European cultural gems: Siena, Ibiza, Stockholm, Berlin, and Venice. German interior architect Victoria-Maria Geyer, based in Belgium, artfully combines her European roots with ancient Persian weaving techniques to craft fresh, harmonious designs that are colorful yet subtle. Renowned for blending antique and contemporary elements with ease, Victoria’s collaboration with Edelgrund beautifully reflects her signature style in this dynamic new collection.
Marpeach
EDELGRUND’s Marpeach Collection, inspired by the term “Spiral Twist” in English, captures the natural flow of movement and energy, reflecting life’s cyclical rhythm. This design celebrates continuous motion, symmetry, and fluidity, offering a modern reinterpretation of timeless geometric forms. With its captivating depth and sophistication, the Marpeach Collection seamlessly blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary elegance. Available in custom sizes and a wide range of color combinations.
Ouwen & Paolo’s I
In a creative collaboration for Milan Design Week 2021, architect Paolo Giordano from Milan and interior/product designer Ouwen Mori from Hunan, China—both renowned for their minimalist approach—joined forces to reimagine some of Edelgrund’s original designs. Their vision was to integrate these works seamlessly, eliminating horizontal breaks. The outcome is a collection of elegant, vertical panels that beautifully align with Edelgrund’s poetic aesthetic.
